veteran (VET run)

The adjective veteran refers to someone who has been involved in a particular activity for a long time. As a noun, veteran usually refers to someone who has served in the armed forces of their country, especially during a war.

    Khon Kaen senator and veteran politician Klaew Norapati died at his flat in Don Muang in Bangkok yesterday.
