spin (noun) - present information in a special way, usually to make the bad seem good

control (noun) - when politicians manipulate the news and media (newspapers, TV) press to put the right spin on a story

a spin doctor (noun) - a person who advises political parties how to present themselves and their policies to the public (skilled in public relations)

put a spin on an event or situation - interpret and present it in a certain way (that others will disagree with)
