Quota

quota (noun) - the limited quantity that is officially allowed

import quota - a limit on the amount of imports allowed into a country from another country (less efficient than an import tariff)


Example sentences:

* He never takes his full quota of holidays.

* We had to increase production temporarily to fill the quota by its end-of-year expiration date.

* Many countries are still exceeding their quotas.

* Sales staff who do not fulfill their sales quota for several months in a row are in danger of losing their job.
