2007 Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) e-readiness rankings

These country rankings by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) "evaluate a country's e-business environment and how amenable a market is to internet-based opportunities." They also include government promotion and adoption of ICT, affordability of broadband, and the development of new mobile and online services that allow latecomers to leapfrog over others in digital development.

Thailand slipped from 47th to 49th out of 69 countries this year. Other countries in Asia did better: "Hong Kong and Singapore showed the highest rise to reach 4th and 6th place (from 10th and 13th respectively). South Korea, Taiwan and Japan also got higher scores and ranks."
